Nikunotoriko in Roppongi aims to change perceptions of yakiniku cuisine
Japanese architect Ryoji Iedokoro recently completed a brand new yakiniku restaurant named Nikunotoriko on the first and second floor of a newly constructed building in Roppongi.
The restaurant is very different from the usual yakiniku places you'll find in Japan and features a broad range of unique details. The first floor features a 6,5m long glass table, chrome chairs and a floor made out of a special glass material which resembles both the appearance and the texture of stone, all set in a cave-like room. Upstairs the place offers a semi-private floor seating which features details like steel pipes made to mimic trees to offer the customer a unique dining experience, "as if you’re enjoying your meal in the middle of a quiet forest."
