mfpen Autumn/Winter '19
A simple yet mindful approach to menswear, mfpen’s latest Autumn/Winter collection is one filled to the brim with their own sense of minimalism, drawing out the Copenhagen uniforms of designer Sigurd Bank’s liking.
Rarely straying too far from these ideas, each piece is essentially an exploration of the classics, some the label has yet to fully utilize. Palettes, though minimal, refrain from being uninteresting with pattern work across a few coats and blazers playing up the otherwise clean presentations. Wool variations as well as slim-cut blousons add a bit of diversity by way of texture and fit, respectively, though their standings are surely more on theme than the outlying down vest. Militaristic by comparison, its black outer and orange inners -- which reverse if need be -- certainly standout against the formal aesthetics of its v-neck sweater vests and somewhat traditional collar shirts and polo tops.
