Engineered Garments Reinterprets the Classic Checkerboard Print on the Vans Slip-On

With Engineered Garments returning to its Vans partnership once again, the eclectic designs of Daiki Suzuki are finding their way along another ensemble of Vault Slip-Ons though this time in his own reinterpretation of the iconic checkerboard print.

Arriving are four diverse colorways that take on contemporary palettes found throughout some of the Anaheim label’s many mainline releases. The first stays closest to the DNA of the original, donning a recognizable black and white with each adjacent tile of the cascading pattern swapping between two degrees of elevation. White/White, Black/Black, and Red/Red alternatives continue this motif with diligence while also modifying the typical construction for one of a more asymmetric visage. Each of the tonal pieces boast a left and right pair that deviate greatly from one another as they feature both different materials as well as slightly different shades.

Enjoy a detailed look at each iteration below and expect them to arrive at Nepenthes Japan come March 2nd.
