uniform experiment and BURTLE Operate on the Iconic Mountain Parka
Utility deviants BURTLE and fellow eccentrics, uniform experiment, live up to the latter’s name with a project centered on the humble Mountain Parka, modifying its traditionally waterproof kit with removable fans that inflate in a pursuit of the exceedingly purposeful.
Hiroshi Fujiwara’s many imprints under the SOPH. umbrella are always ripe in their graphic motifs, with this piece following suit. “UNIFORM EXPERIMENT” arrives sprawled along the back in boldfaced font alongside the iconic thunderbolt iconography, while “FRGMNT” in brightening reflective adorns the hood. Denoting typography contrasts in yellow along the lower front of the black nylon constructions with the most wildly futuristic modifications stunning by way of two co-branded fans ornamenting the piece just above its back hem. Inflating to allow fresh air to circulate throughout, the garment is a true melding of function and form for a refreshing take on techwear and workwear.
