AiE Spring/Summer '20
Arguably the most playful side of the Nepenthes umbrella, AiE further broadens its artist motifs with maximal all-over prints and a slew of new denim washes. SS20 is fresh with bright palettes acting in perfect characterization of the season itself.
Building on much of their prior aesthetics, the core pieces largely follow within the confines of the brand’s usually workings, allowing an ample amount of room to stretch creatively without falling short of their character. Patterns are, as always, standout, boldly pushing floral arrangements, chaotic psychedelics, and even avant-garde geometrics across a variety of tops as well as their matching trousers. Shirting is light as they favor the wide and loose; outerwear -- which sees its way throughout the domains of both workwear and militaria -- take on similar ethos with just a tinge bit more structure. Blazers, specifically, add a smart air despite their design heavy outers while work coats, hooded parkas, and army blousons add contrast by way of the other end of the style spectrum.
