Hiroki Nakamura’s Visvim returns with their dissertation series as they describe their product introspection into the low-top footwear line for their Autumn/Winter ‘20 collection.

The product introspection details their mindset for creating new products through unique methods, methods, and inspirations such as Native American or ethnic tribes as well as Chinese elderly. Recognizing his passion for everyday wear design, Hiroki placed significant importance on the process of designing from the inside. For example, their Corda-Folk features a cork insole held together with a Goodyear Welt construction, an application of modern techniques with high-quality materials, to extend the footwear’s overall life span. In a separate case focusing on the external, the Hammond-Folk is made with a cracked leather upper that is actually a pseudo-cracked goatskin. This also seres a purpose as the high degree of elasticity resists wear and tear. Lastly, the FKT Runner is a vulcanized sneaker with an emphasis on comfort and breathability.
