norbit by Hiroshi Nozawa Autumn/Winter '20
Replete with function, norbit’s seasonal range of garments never shy away from revealing Hiroshi Nozawa’s expertise. From designing for Snow Peak to working on his own namesake label, the designer has grown by leaps and bounds with a dedication to his aesthetic, often employing a fishing inspiration alongside classic workwear.
Autumn/Winter ‘20 is only further example of his mastery, with difficult cuts and shapes coming together in a cohesive range of standouts. And though there are many to highlight, no piece is visually segmented, each arriving with outdoor and nature inspired themes intact. Utility plays a huge role alongside -- something Nozawa utilizes near perennially -- with hunting vests boasting large compartments in neutral check and outerwear bringing along warmth as a byproduct of its luxe down quilting; elsewhere, reversible fleece blousons equip for the colder months ahead as well, though with a much more visually compelling set of camo prints emblazoned atop. Shirting opts for patterns more understated with blue-accented striping while then going on to be even simpler in unadorned denim, the latter matching quite well with the oversized woolen pullovers and the short-sleeve down top. Further uses of the construction forms in large overcoats or pillowy vests, offerings adjacent to the shortened duffle coat and returning fishing jacket.
