YASHIKI Spring/Summer '21

YASHIKI Spring/Summer '21

Founded in 2014 by Sayatomo Yashiki, his label, YASHIKI, may still be young in its inception but has a firm head on its shoulders and a very stern destination in mind. Through its mastery of knitwear, YASHIKI delivers simple and expertly-constructed garments, mainly produced in the Ryomo area of north Kanto, a region of Japan synonymous with knit production.

Knitwear forms the crux of YASHIKI’s Spring/Summer ‘21 collection with red-imbued sweater vests, deep indigo cable-knit cardigans and kimono-style knits, a nod to familiar tradition. The brands knit production is consolidated in the Ryomo area which is a region with a century’s worth of textile tradition; with this in mind, YASHIKI upholds this tradition and combines international knitting techniques with symbolic patterns that are textually sublime. An array of bottoms help to compliment the knitted ensemble, with pleated trousers, boxy shorts and slim-cut denim. The colour palette stays rooted mainly in earthy tones with the accompaniment of navy and red hues.
