Japanese Tradition Meets Contemporary Art in Goodhood x C.C.P. Capsule Collection
London-based retailer, Goodhood, has collaborated with the art gallery, C.C.P. - Childhood, Calm & Punk - on a capsule collection that honours the Japanese dyeing technique ‘Aizome’.
In true Goodhood form, this collaborative capsule with C.C.P. fuses the two polar words of contemporary art and traditional methods of Japanese dyeing, known as ‘Aizome’, which is a form of indigo dyeing that dates back to the 1600s. The collection enlists the work of contemporary artists from around the world including the likes of Alexandre Bavard aka. Mosa, Aki Yamamoto, Laurie Herman & Nick Atkins. The end result is a Hooded Sweatshirt, Trousers, Short and Long Sleeve T-Shirt, four exclusive prints, a mask and a printed zine. The ‘Aizome’ technique of dyeing has created a very individual print for each style. With each artist expressing a different approach, the garments are unique in the form of artwork that leans on graffiti culture, 80s film graphics and everyday occurrences to name a few.
