Merrell x A. FOUR Labs
As part of their Spring/Summer ‘21 collection, Merrell 1TRL has unveiled a collaborative range with Kazuki Kuraishi’s A. FOUR Labs.
Launched in 2012 by Kazuki Kuraishi and Lucas Price from Bristol, England, A. FOUR Labs was started as an experimental art project by the two which aimed to design a uniform for Price to wear during creative activities. With Kuraishi on board, it draws on his streetwear influence in the form of graphic tees and sweats. Having worked with a number of collaborators in the past including The Stone Roses and Ryan Gander, they have now teamed up with Merrell.
Often looking to the past for inspiration, Merrell and their collaborators A. FOUR Labs have conjured up three new products that are vintage-esque in delivery yet feature modern technologies and techniques. The proposed silhouettes are the ‘Merrell x A.FOUR Chelsea’, the ‘Merrell x A.FOUR Chukka’ and the ‘Merrell x A.FOUR Moab’, all of which combine Kuraishi’s design credentials with footwear icons to release new interpretations of traditional styles. The ‘Merrell x A. Four Moab’ has been tweaked to Chukka height whereas the ‘Chukka’ and ‘Chelsea’ retain the recognised Jungle soling we are used to seeing from Merrell with some tweaks like collaborative branding and suede uppers. Kitted out with GORE-TEX technology, each model features a waterproof and breathable membrane that aids in performance and activity. There is a handful of colourways on offer including sand with white detailing, light grey and sand and also a pink/grey.
Available now via Merrell 1TRL’s online store.
