FACETASM Derives Inspiration from the Forest for its Autumn/Winter '22 Collection
Showcased at Paris Men’s Fashion Week 2022, FACETASM looks to the forest environment for the inspiration behind its Autumn/Winter ‘22 collection which is characteristical ‘FACETASM’.
Delivered through a distinct lens that is representative of Hiromichi Ochiai and FACETASM’s design vision, the collection delivers a whole host of garments that have been given a deliberate once over. In true form, outerwear comes in an oversized manner with everyday styles like the varsity jacket and trucker denim jacket subverted as usual. Taking a more formal approach to the wardrobe, longer coats and belted macs feature slashed sleeves, motorcycle-inspired detailing and oversized collars. Alongside that, bottoms are delivered in a manner of cuts and styles from bellbottom striped suit trousers to loose-fitting denim that drapes over the model’s footwear. The collection is replete with bold colours and vivid patterns including purple and orange hues that are contrasted by check plaids skeletal prints.
When asked about the inspiration behind the collection, Hiromichi Ochiai of FACETASM said, ‘When I design, I often create a calculated environment and strike a precise balance. For this season, Facetasm’s designs challenge the silhouette with exaggerated volumes. I wanted to present the clothes in a world where everything is accidental, such as the organic shapes of the trees in the Yanbaru forest (a forest on the island Okinawa, Japan) and the movement of light changing in the wind.’
