A Closer Look at YASHIKI's 'Hanaakari Collar Cardigan'

An integral part of YASHIKI’s Spring/Summer ‘23 collection, the Hanaakari Collar Cardigan uses natural imagery as the basis of its knit pattern: ‘I imagined cherry blossoms in full bloom floating in the darkness of the night with a faint glow’.

The sheeting knit that runs down the centre of the body expresses the darkness of the night, whilst the irregular knitting on either side represents those cherry blossoms floating in the night sky, providing a light amidst the dark. The cardigan achieves a unique tone-tone effect by using a technique called plating knitting where different threads are knitted on the front, back and sides. Finished to the highest standard, the buttons are made from natural black oyster shells that possess a beautiful iridescent sheen to them. There are three colours to choose from including black, smokey blue and greige.
