côte&ciel Highlights Komatsu Onibegie® Nylon in Latest Editorial

As the brand continues to make strides in terms of innovation, côte&ciel has introduced a new material in its Spring/Summer ‘23 collection: Komatsu Onibegie® Nylon.

Existing alongside materials such as Allura leather, Majocchi and Crispy Lemon, Onibegie® is a naturally-dyed material that uses and combines ingredients extracted from onion skin as a base and various other natural sources such as olives and charcoal. By using this in place of synthetic nylon, côte&ciel is able to reduce its burden on the environment by opting for a kinder material that doesn’t sacrifice its appearance or function. côte&ciel styles that are made using Onibegie® include the Isar M, Ladon, Adda Plus and Neda, each of which is a different size and possesses its own functional details.

To honour the traditional Japanese methods of fabric dyeing utilised in the process of developing Onibegie®, the Komatsu editorial series pays homage to the manufacturer’s Japanese roots and nature's ability to regain ground previously lost to manmade practices through subtle styling cues and creeping organic matter.
