UNUSED Autumn/Winter '23
Refining its functional designs and contemporary takes on classic silhouettes, the Japanese label, UNUSED, has unveiled its Autumn/Winter ‘23 which is set to release later in the year.
Since its inception, UNUSED has built its foundation on the everyday essentials that we rely on, from outerwear to knitwear, bottom and sweats. Instead of appropriating these silhouettes at face value, UNUSED approaches them in a nuanced way through a refined choice of fabrication and subtle intricacies.
Its upcoming Autumn/Winter ‘23 collection is no different with its offering of heavy-duty outerwear looking to iconic styles and bringing them up to a modern standard, producing the Water-Resistant Down Jacket, Padded M-65 Coat and Nylon Zip Jacket, to name a few. Their variety extends to bottoms which take the form of patterned trousers, tailored dress trousers and relaxed sweatpants. A handful of knitwear styles truly take centre stage with a pink mohair cardigan, fisherman knit and black and white cardigan doing their bit. Collaborations include Buzz Ricksons on an MA-1 Coat and Playboy on a series of garments, including a hooded sweatshirt, bottoms and a shirt. Influences come thick and fast from military, workwear and outdoor sources.
