SOUTH2 WEST8 and Danner Tweak the 'Mountain Light' Boot
Adding to its lengthy list of footwear collaborators, SOUTH2 WEST8 has unveiled its latest project with Danner, the cultivator of the iconic ‘Mountain Light’ boot.
Paying respect to traditional methods of weather-proofing shoes, the Mountain Light boot is made using oiled suede, which is moisture-repellent and comfortable for the foot. Other notable features include integrated GORE-TEX technology, Danner’s handmade stitch-down construction and metal eyelets. The outsole features the ‘360 Dri-Ice’ unit manufactured by VIBRAM, which is characterised by the unique shape of lugs that offer multi-directional traction. The Mountain Light is finished with traditional green/yellow two-tone laces that provide a subtle contrast against the suede material. SOUTH2 WEST8 does little to detract from the Mountain Light's polished design; instead, the fishing-inspired label includes a tonal variation of its ‘antlers’ logo.
