18 East and Padmore & Barnes Produce the Oakledge Hiker Low
In their fourth consecutive collaboration, New York-based 18 East has partnered with Padmore & Barnes to develop a new hiking-inspired footwear style: the Oakledge Hiker Low.
While their first three collaborative projects saw 18 East remodelling Padmore & Barnes’ archetypal silhouettes and pushing the boundaries of pattern-making, this time around they have been granted the freedom to produce their own style. The result is the Oakledge Hiker Low, a sneaker-boot hybrid that is crafted in Portugal and sits atop a rugged all-weather Vibram Bifida sole. The upper features Italian suede with a padded Cordura collar and tongue, with finishing touches coming by the way of antique silver speed lace loops, dual-branded orange leather insoles and 18 East’s ‘Hands’ woven label on the backside of the tongue.
