A Closer Look at the Latest WINDSTOPPER® Capsule by +phenix and CLESSTE
In the latest capsule from their ongoing collaborative series, +phenix and CLESSTE bring together the best of natural and technical synthetic materials by combining soft nappa leather with GORE-TEX WINDSTOPPER® to create the City Sidewinder Jacket and Massive Twisted Pants.
Leading the pack is the City Sidewinder Jacket, an outerwear silhouette inspired by 2000s skiing wear. Fitted with an abundance of technical features that honour its roots, including an asymmetrical zipper opening, cord adjusters, concealed zippers in the sleeves, and a two-way zipper entry. Following similar design cues, the Massive Twisted Pants are based on CLESSTE’s ‘Massive Pants’ but with some apparent modifications, including the leather construction and three-dimensional patterning. Throughout the pants are 10 pockets, which can be located on the back, at hip level and in the leg, and are secured using zippers.
The Jacket and Pants are crafted using supple nappa leather and incorporate 2L GORE-TEX WINDSTOPPER technology, a fabric membrane that provides excellent wind resistance and increased breathability. This unlikely coupling of natural and synthetic materials highlights the pair’s commitment to elevating classic garments and improving their functionality in an urban context.
This offering is followed by the Military Jacket and Pants, which will be released tomorrow from CLESSTE, putting a twist on military uniforms' components.
