House in Akitsu by Kazunori Fujimoto Architects

House in Akitsu is the latest project of Kazunori Fujimoto Architects. Completed in 2016, the house is located outside the city of Higashihiroshima facing the Seto Inland Sea. The main compartments of the house is made out of two concrete cubes featuring a stairway leading up to the main entrance while a smaller one lead up to the roof terrace. The entire interior is made up of polished concrete and features a highly minimal design. The main attraction inside however, is the twisting staircase cast in concrete which connect the bedrooms on the ground floor with the living spaces on the top.
