UNDERCOVER channels Stanley Kubrick’s "2001: A Space Odyssey" for AW18
In a joint show together with TAKAHIROMIYASHITAThe Soloist yesterday at Pitti Uomo, Jun Takahashi presented his UNDERCOVER Autumn/Winter 18 collection titled “Order / Disorder”.
The collection takes most of it’s inspiration from Stanley’s Kubricks classic film from 1968 “2001: A Space Odyssey.” The first hint we got from the huge black monolith at the end of the catwalk before the models came walking down in different pieces like parkas, bombers, coach jackets and ponchos featuring some of the most iconic scenes from the movie. Jun also showed us puffer jackets highly similar to the spacesuits used by the characters in the movie as well as accessories inspired by HAL 9000.
