nanamica Spring/Summer '19

nanamica released a string of noteworthy projects in 2018 and now Eiichiro Homma and his label has their sights set on SS19. In a theme of “Alternative Dressing” and coinciding with their upcoming label Nanamican Graffiti, it’s clear that the season will be jam-packed with styles that escape the proverbial comfort zone.

Mixing many influences while infusing their own signature design language, all sorts of contemporary silhouettes get dressed in technical fabrics. Splitting up their collection in three subdivisions, nanamica wanted to put a direct divide between their aspirations, leading into some interesting combinations. The first is “Let’s go out in a spring coat,” which enters the realm of light jackets and perfects it well in its series of Soutien collar coats and reversible jackets. Leading into the next — dubbed “The All-Mighty Setup Suit” — pieces are more smart in their overall visage, with large lapel blazers and matching pants approaching the line-up in their ALPHADRY tech. Louder than the previous three, “Multicolor and Windbreakers” tackles the color blocking trends of the 90s, adding in windbreakers that pay homage to that era while including a set of bold shirting that don contrasting patterns.

nanamica has begun to really think outside of the box, breeding interesting looks under the label we’ve come to see hit some much needed recognition. Check out the a glimpse of the collection below.
