Yuichi Kuroda has always been inspired by the metaphysics of music and sound when designing for LAD MUSICIAN. Since 1995, the brand has been pushing the boundaries for accessible yet high-end menswear while incorporating European avant-garde influence. The latest Spring/Summer 2019 collection lookbook reflects these same themes as entitled “SELF DESTRUCTION”.
This season takes a departure from the skinny, tapered silhouettes by featuring oversized outerwear pieces with relaxed bottoms. In addition to the black dominant color way, olive anorak pullovers and long plaid flannels brighten the overall collection. LAD MUSICIAN also takes inspiration of abstract concepts and ideas from producer Francisco Meirino, contemporary artist Christopher Wool and Joy Division. The latter is evident through the new twist of Peter Saville’s iconic cover for the Unknown Pleasures album from 1979.
