Cav Empt and Nike Team Up for a Graphic Heavy Capsule

Cav Empt and Nike Team Up for a Graphic Heavy Capsule

2019 seems to spell the year of innovation for many labels, though Nike seems to be pulling out all the stops in that regard. While ensuring a healthy dose of colorways for their mainline releases, the Beaverton brand has dialed up their collaborations to DEFCON 1, recruiting the talents of notable names within Japanese streetwear, like Ambush, Undercover, and now — finally — Cav Empt.

Short for “Caveat Emptor,” the Sk8thing and Toby Feltwell helmed label has done everything in their own way — fitting for their “Buyer Beware” mindset — though they’re now inflicting that unique process into Nike’s classic Air Max 95 as well as a few apparel styles that fit in perfectly within the athleisure mindset. Two colorways of the layered upper are set to arrive at the advent of 2019, hitting retailers and storefronts in both a White/Black and Blue/White. Adorned on each is a fragmented digital camouflage pattern that is not too unlike some of the graphic chaos seen in much of the brand’s many designs. Apparel takes notes from other prior releases, exhibiting some of the classic “CAV EMPT” embroidery as well as a few playful hits along their prints.

The entire capsule will be releasing first at cavempt.com as well as their Tokyo location on January 5th, with a wider release slated for January 10th. Take a look at the bit of teaser imagery, and grab a drink for the wait we have ahead.
