GAKURO Dissects Vintage Jackets for a Range of Military Garments
Acting in near definition of its own themes, GAKURO and their latest apparel capsule takes military into a very different direction. In the same vein as Rebuild by Needles, the Korea-based label has taken a wide assortment of vintage track jackets and rain parkas to rethink the once humble MA-1 bomber and M-51 pant.
Difficult to describe as one lump sum, the every single offering is just as expressive and as loud as the next, though they differ at each and every single point thanks to the materials to which they owe their very construction. Outerwear, which unsurprisingly comes in one template, is made reversible to allow for double inspection of its panels’ aged colors and various logos: a small mosaic of Nike, DHL, The North Face, and a few others. The trousers mirror this very motif, following in wide cuts and aggressive restructurings while still incorporating cargo pockets and a drawstring waist.
