Wacko Maria and INVINCIBLE Pay Homage to Legacy With Converse
Taiwanese retailer INVINCIBLE, due most in part to their deep-seated fascination with the meaning of legacy, has never strayed far away from the influential, taking up partnership with quite a few names in its past with Converse being the latest to rejoin its ranks after years apart. Alongside, they’ve recruited the Americana-obsessed Japanese label Wacko Maria, bringing to life a curated selection of Chuck 70s and accompanying apparel.
Iconic in all regards, and with its own influence apart from the star-shaped flags, the silhouette is a personal favorite of everyone involved. Designer Atsuhiko Mori even goes on to state that he and his team wear the model religiously on their own time. Bringing this passion to their own creations, their signatures arrive in the form of an expressive animal print across both a low-top and high. The latter, which paints a more vivid and traditional leopard picture, is otherwise unassuming despite what lies along its canvas constructions; the low is of a similar yet distinct treatment, favoring instead a mix of olive-based camo in shapes not too dissimilar to its much taller alternative. Elsewhere, apparel is entirely removed from Converse, only taking on logos from INVINCIBLE and Wacko Maria along staples such as fatigue jackets, hawaiian shirts, and hoodies.
If you’re interested in grabbing any of the above, they’ll be releasing globally on December 19th with a early release at the boutique taking place much earlier on December 14th.
