TROVE Spring/Summer '20

After releasing their secondary line of technical pieces, TROVE is quick to finish their SS20 collection, one inspired by one of the most important figures of the art world as we know it: Georgia O’Keefe. Themed as “Heliconia,” the range draws on many a 20th century theme in what is a study of the artist’s life as we see it from an outside perspective.

As such, what arrives is a general assortment of pieces quite timeless overall yet mostly old-timey in their more ethereal qualities. Palettes are the least expressive accent across the entire small but curated breadth of garments, and yet none feel as if they are lacking in anything visually. Dark browns, deep, saturated blacks, and versatile sets of ecru dress up chore coats, long, loose shirting, and the like with embellishments to their pattern more subtle at quick glance. Other than the Japanese label’s signature of high quality, many of these accentuate collars to a size comical yet congruous within context and overcoats wide and airy yet structured and easily belted at their mid torso. Accompanying tops add in a bit more variety as do the bottoms, the latter dosing in buckled wraps along the waist and the former bearing v-neck tees composed of linen and billowing tops left minimal in the way of fasteners and outward modifications.
