Descente Allterain and BYBORRE Redefine Design for Autumn/Winter '20

As individual pioneers in different fields of the industry, Descente Allterrain and BYBORRE utilise one and others unique skillsets to create a product that reflects both brands. With a shared desire to drive and explore innovation, they are both leaders in their own right: BYBORRE are self-proclaimed ‘Masters of Knit’ - a very worthy title - and Descente Allterrain is a figurehead among the technical clothing landscape.

While still relatively new in its inception, Descente Allterrain is one of the first brands to have access to BYBORRE’s bespoke textile services where users can play and create different knits using an online tool. As a result, creators are confronted with a new way of working that opens up the supply chain and promotes transparency throughout and allows them to pick yarns, knit types and colours. This is more than a collaboration, this is a significant milestone for design.

For the Autumn/Winter ‘20 season, the pair has developed a 3-in-1 ‘Transform Jacket’ that celebrates the expertise cultivated by the two. The jacket is made up of two interchangeable layers that can be zipped into one another depending on the wearers wants and needs. The Outer Shell, developed by Descente Allterrain, is a prime example of the brand’s technical know-how as they engineer a lightweight and highly-elastic hard shell constructed using a 3-Layer ENTRANT® FLOATECH NYLON fabric; this is a highly waterproof layer. BYBORRE has developed an inner insulation layer that uses 8-bit Structure Knit which is created from recycled nylon using post-production waste. Each layer can be worn individually or as part of the 3-in-1 layering system that can be adjusted according to the everchanging environment. The pieces are all a very similar olive hue. As leaders in their respective fields, the end result is a truly unique garment that is innovative and function-driven by nature.

The Transform Jacket retails for £760 and will be available from Descente and Browns Fashion on Friday, 23rd October.
