Carhartt WIP x WACKO MARIA Link Up for a Workwear-Inspired Capsule

Carhartt WIP x WACKO MARIA Link Up for a Workwear-Inspired Capsule

For Autumn/Winter ‘20, Carhartt WIP has collaborated with one of Japan’s leading cult brands, WACKO MARIA, on a 16-piece capsule collection.

Carhartt WIP is no stranger to collaboration, in the short past they’ve worked with FPAR, APC and SOPHNET, to name a few off a growing list. But, this time around they are debuting a collection that features familiar design motifs associated with WACKO MARIA, specifically their leopard print which is atypical of a number of their styles. For example, two iconic Carhartt silhouettes, the Detroit Jacket and OG Active Jacket, feature an all-over leopard print that isn’t for the faint-hearted. This fusion of DNA from both brands is akin to Carhartt WIP’s design process, often borrowing from the other party involved and mixing it with their roots in traditional workwear garments. To further consolidate the endeavour, WACKO MARIA has made a slight alteration in the style of font that typically dons Carhartt WIP apparel. Other items in the capsule include the Chase Beanie, American Script Sweatshirt and graphic tees, as well as Wacko Maria skate pants constructed using durable cotton twill associated with a number of the workwear pioneers garments.

The collection releases at Japanese Carhartt WIP stores and their respective online store on October 10th.
