Shenzhen-based retailer COSTS has partnered up with the Japanese brand FDMTL to collaborate on the New Balance 2002R silhouette.

Their expertise may lay in the production of denim goods, but it has the ability to trickle down on occasion. Priding themselves on tradition, FDMTL is always the first to incorporate age-old methods, practices and materials when it comes to designing a product; their uncompromising attention-to-detail is unmatched. This collaboration with COSTS and New Balance is no exclusion to that rule. The 2002R silhouette is making a bit of a resurgence at the moment and is heavily-inspired by running shoes from the 2000s in a retro-meets-modern aesthetic. This particular model incorporates 5 different types of fabric throughout to present an attitude of refined craftsmanship synonymous with FDMTL. Details of Sashiko embroidery can be found on the tongue and heel, while the rest of the shoe dons varying shades of indigo across mesh and suede materials. With thanks to the addition of an ABZORB midsole, SBS ABZORB cushioned heel and Stability Web and N-ergy outsole, the comfort and support provided by this shoe is second-to-none.

The COSTS x FDMTL x New Balance collaboration will be exclusively available from select COSTS and FDMTL locations mid-November.
