Outdoor gear mixed with formalwear, Taiwanese label oqLiq crafts strong their own idea of essentials, using classic forms -- mountain parkas, oxfords, and the like -- to further flesh out their ideal set of Spring/Summer garments.

Weaved with a minimal aesthetic, the 2020 collection treks off the beaten path with mind paid to the objective classics. Despite using signature shirting, familiar outerwear, and basic tops, the brand still comes into their own by way of the minute detail: for example, certain tops add patchwork adornments to the side of their plackets, unorthodox curved pockets in parallel to the same element, and even subtle venting along the chest that reminds of technical fly fishing equipment. In a similar vein, even tees cut against the grain in overt fashion as they splice together contrasting swatches of fabric while stitching atop a mix of utilitarian compartments. Balanced by layering keystones like vests, henley tops, and technical hooded jackets, the range lets every one of the aforementioned accents take the helm, while tropical prints, Eastern Asian motifs, and geometric graphics seat shotgun.
