Sillage Adds New Fabrics, Cuts, and Collaborations to Their Spring 2020 Collection
Perennially defined by the one size fits all mindset, Sillage enters 2020 with yet another full-fledged collection, further corporealizing the style of its creator, the multi-hyphenated Yuthanan. Entering the Spring season, the selection braces for harsh weathers with its atypical cuts, using a framework inspired by both the technical as well as the sartorial.
And as the label started off with a love of trousers, the range strengthens the core line-up with a strong curation of cuts: the circular and the baggy pant. Though both undeniably wide, one lies just a fraction slimmer, more tapered; the other simply shrouds the entire silhouette -- especially on the model who lay host to these very garments. Outerwear aims to do much of the same, even using the same fabrics as the aforementioned, dressing to utility-upgraded blazers, trucker jackets, and imposing trench coats replete with accentuated sleeves, horn buttons, and the like. Weather-resistant ventile materials, whose garments are priced reasonably as touted by the designer himself, lie at the core of the main constructions -- an extremely cropped hooded parka making full use of its water repellent qualities. Tropical wools, strong, seasonally characteristic linens then add diversity, though not on the oversized shirting that shapes in classic chambray and even in a stripe-patterned cotton as part of a partnership with Individualized Shirts.
