THE RERACS Autumn/Winter '20 Women
And just as THE RERACS provides strength after strength with their menswear collection, womenswear proves to be much of the same, though despite their similarities in style, the garments seem to feel more at home. Striking a synergy difficult to miss, the Japanese label creates a balance between staples and standouts: everything blurred under an umbrella of designer Naomi Kurahashi’s making.
Within that, following what has become her signature, mountaineering rears its head, ostensibly lying at the helm in a palette monochromatic rather than retro. Black and white adorns the torso’s of mountain parkas, but unlike that of the men’s category, the women’s offerings appear bolder with a flipped snow white construction. Lengthened down variants follow suit, blinding nearby smarter staples of dark navy, militaristic olives, and simple, versatile blacks. Duffle coats, elegant one button closure overcoats, and much more contrast just adjacent, though as technical fabrications seem to outfit throughout, no piece can be called an outlier. Accented by skirts of formal nature and various middle layers, the range ends on strong notes as it flourishes army jackets with attached quilted halves.
