UNDERCOVER Women's Autumn/Winter '20

UNDERCOVER Women's Autumn/Winter '20

Never short of finding cultural classics for his collection’s inspiration, Jun Takahashi’s Women’s collection for UNDERCOVER creates a contemporary reimagination of Akira Kurosawa’s 1957 film, Throne of Blood, the same Macbeth-plot film referenced under his men’s runway collection.

Jun Takahashi finds great interest in the Lady Macbeth character as he incorporates Renaissance shapes and details infused into traditional Japanese silhouettes and styles. His attention to detail to shape and the dichotomy of patterns is in full display as contemporary tailored pleated trousers are paired with a classic coat in bold blue lined with white and paneled with a flared stripe sleeve. Frill accents are an added touch to skirts and cropped jackets while plaid-patterned knitwear exhibits the perfect drape. Outerwear consists of bold designs as wool jackets and cardigans are flared and hooded parkas feature functionality with cross-body straps and extra-large hoods.
