Converse x Carhartt WIP 'Renew' The Chuck Taylor 70
Long-time collaborators, Converse and Carhartt WIP, have partnered up once again to restructure a certain footwear icon: the Chuck Taylor 70.
Past efforts have always been rooted in Carhartt’s rich workwear history - sturdy ripstop nylon and camo prints, to name a few - and this silhouette stays true to that. As an addition to Converse’s ‘Renew’ line, the pair have re-purposed over a thousand vintage and pre-owned Carhartt workwear garments and given them a new lease of life. Carhartt Chore jackets, coveralls and carpenter trousers are some of the pieces that make up the three-panel construction of this silhouette, with navy, brown and black shades giving it a unique and authentic feel. Finishing touches include exposed stitching and collaborative branding on the tongue and heel.
These will be available on Thursday 28th May via Converse and Carhartt WIP’s respective online stores.
