OTOÄA Autumn/Winter 2020-21
Visually monochromatic, OTOÄA captivates by way of simple fashion -- designer Atsuji Aoto preferring to pair simple oversized tops with matching wide-fit bottoms. And while readied for the Autumn/Winter ‘20 season, the pieces themselves shy away from bulky silhouettes in favor of more universal wool and twill constructions.
Filtered through an earth tone gradation, the collection starts bright at one end of the spectrum and finds its way at the other end come finish. Sweaters, of both crewneck and turtleneck varieties, refine an expansive breadth of basics that act as accents next to the more interesting shapes. Of coats with large, near regal lapels and a slew of loose to tapered bottoms, the standouts seemingly blend in as collarless blousons, high gauge knit shawls, formless dresses, and more layer in almost seamlessly.
