Goodfight Spring/Summer '21

Fresh off a nature and outdoor-oriented Autumn/WInter collection, Los Angeles-based label Goodfight channels rebellious punk vibes as they reminisce on youthful days in the midst of global unrest. The Spring/Summer ‘21 collection, photographed by Keith Oshiro and entitled “Clarity of Our Youth”, exhibits modularity among the pieces while featuring utilitarian elements uniquely expressed through DIY aesthetics.

Goodfight especially channels this theme in the lookbook with mohawk hair styling by Darine Sengseevong on model Tyler Xu. Military inspiration is evident through their use of vintage and deadstock materials as the base for multiple items such as the purple Permapress Slim Trousers and Seven String Shorts, resulting in each individual piece being a one-of-one. Their variable G65 Jacket references classic Vietnam-era fishtail parkas, but is reinterpreted with a detachable skirt that transforms the parka into a cropped jacket. Meanwhile, Goodfight pushes the boundary of formal yet casual staples such as their Collar Chameleon Blazer, a collarless jacket, and Vest, a shawl collared version, that where when worn together looks like a single blazer jacket. Colorful and bold graphic tees are in style of band tour merch, feature artwork with ongoing collaborators such as Justine Lin, Makoto Tachibana, Jun Fukushima, and Julia Chu, while their silverware lineup with Good Art Hlywd fits perfectly with their nostalgic theme.
