Sage Nation Appears in the Latest Issue of Orienteer Mapazine 'Continental Drift'
For their fourth issue, Orienteer Mapazine has featured Sage Nation’s second collection, ‘Duality’.
Orienteer’s latest issue, ‘Continental Drift’, marks one year since its inception with this particular publication, the first to not be produced under a national lockdown, welcoming a fresh perspective characterised by more freedom and outdoor escapades. Having previously featured Sage Nation in a previous copy, Orienteer Mapazine tracks the evolution and growth of the brand in their latest link-up including an in-depth interview and editorial. Quizzed on a series of topics from the duality underpinning the brand, the designers dual-heritage and points of inspiration, Orienteer digs deep into the fundamentals behind Sage Nation. For the editorial side of things, the garments are envisioned in a cross between an urban metropolis and a more rural scene demonstrating the duality of Sage Nation.

Your designs are both high-end yet functional and can be worn every day, for example, your poncho, also a skirt. How important is this idea of duality to you?
Duality on a functional level is always interesting. I’ll try and incorporate an aspect of duality within the design process but it has to come naturally - it is important to make sure things aren’t just done performatively. Some clothes are overly functional, no one needs 100 pockets, but when it makes sense and allows an item to exist in multiple spaces, it’s only ideal.
