Porter-Yoshida & Co. and Garbstore Team Up for a Three-Piece Sacoche Bag Collection
London-based retailer, Garbstore, home to the likes of mfpen, Engineered Garments and Story mfg., has joined forces with Porter Yoshida & Co. on a three-piece luggage capsule.
As with every Porter Yoshida & Co. design, functionality remains the core focus, whether that be by optimising storage capacity or the durability of the fabric, but there is often a subtle twist. In turn, the pair has developed three original sacoche luggage staples - the ‘Minute’, ‘Hour’ and ‘Day’ - which have been thoughtfully designed by Ian of Garbstore, whose experiences with short, frequent commutes between home and office called for such bags. With such personal experience behind him, Ian made sure to incorporate that into the design, hence why the larger of the three bags, ‘Day’, can fit a laptop and has additional padding for comfort and secure passage of your belongings. Each bag comes equipped with a brass two-way zipper for the main compartment, a tie-dye interior lining and a black nylon exterior, atypical of Porter Yoshida & Co. styles. With each sacoche expressing a different degree of storage, the ‘Minute’ is the smallest of three prioritising space for quick essentials before moving on to the larger counterparts, ‘Hour’ and ‘Day’, which are both steps up a gear. Each one comes with two asymmetric outside pockets and extended brass zips.
The collection is available now in-store and via Garbstore’s online store, as well as select retailers.
