C.P. Company & Barbour Join Forces on a Commemorative 50th Anniversary Capsule
Barbour and C.P. Company combine the very best of British and Italian outerwear design in this ‘Cinquanta’ capsule collection.
The Italian sportswear label, C.P. Company, is celebrating their ‘Cinquanta’ (50th) anniversary this year and there aren’t many other collaborators, besides Barbour, that could make this just. Drawing on Barbour’s extensive outerwear knowledge that dates back to its inception in 1894, C.P. Company lends its unrivaled expertise in material and fabric technology. With a shared admiration for functional design, military and sportswear styles start as a building block for inspiration. The capsule collection consists of two outerwear silhouettes - the La 500 Miglia and La Mille jackets -, a backpack, a hooded sweatshirt and two headwear options. Touching on key design points from both Barbour and C.P. Company, the outerwear features collaborative woven patches, C.P. Company's iconic watch viewer lens, goggle visors and Barbour zipper pulls.
To truly celebrate the anniversary, the proposed outerwear silhouettes include renditions of C.P. Company’s most iconic styles: the Mille and 500 Mille jackets, both debuted in 1988 but remain timeless pieces of design. The ‘La 500 Miglia’ jacket features a water-resistant and garment-dyed waxed cotton construction as well as technical details like a goggle hood, corduroy collar, secure front pockets and more. In addition, the ‘La Mille’ style is made using the same waxed cotton material with a checked lining, goggle hood and secure front pockets, to highlight some details of many.
