LAD MUSICIAN Spring/Summer '22

LAD MUSICIAN Spring/Summer '22

LAD MUSICIAN, led by designer Yuichi Kuroda since 1995, toys with the idea of bringing fantasy and romance back into everyday life with its Spring/Summer ‘22 collection whilst drawing on a number of points of inspiration in the process.

Alongside more formally suited options like blazer and trouser ensembles, Kuroda subverts typical clothing silhouettes through the use of colour, cut and pattern. With some of the patterns, at first glance they may appear to be random paint splatters but upon closer inspection, they are careful strokes of intricate detailing and animal printing. In true form, silhouettes come in a number of forms including regular, flare, short, big and long allowing the wearer to experiment with textures and layers. The collection also includes styles of outerwear like blousons and denim truckers that are cut longer in the arms but shorter in the body. A mainstay in LAD MUSICIAN collections is the ‘Chester Coat’ which sees a return and is made using a nylon-blended wool to suppress fluffing on the surface of the fabric. The lines throughout the coat are straight and provide a non-hugging fit.

Take a closer look at the collection below.
