EDITORIAL | Merrell 1TRL Autumn/Winter 22 by eye_C
An offshoot of Merrell’s main product line, 1TRL is an exclusive arm of the brand that maintains the ethos and reputation of the brand whilst challenging the traditional conceptions of the trail-oriented footwear aesthetic; as a result, archival silhouettes are reinvented through the use of modern technologies like Vibram soles and recycled materials.
The editorial spotlights three of Merrell 1TRL’s key styles from its Autumn/Winter ‘22 collection including the Winter Moc 3, Moab 2 Decon Mid and Moab Slide, all of which are designed for different environments. Designed with colder conditions in mind, the Winter Moc 3 is an updated iteration of Merrell 1TRL’s regular moc, featuring a suede and textile upper with a sticky rubber outsole for added traction. In a similar fashion, the Moab Slide has been reimagined from the traditional walking boot into an easy-to-slip-on style. Crafted using a suede leather upper, the Moab Slide sits atop a Vibram TC5+ outsole that delivers a careful balance of grip, traction, durability and flexibility. Lastly, the Moab 2 Decon Mid is modelled around the desert boot but with revised features deeming it suitable for everyday use, such as a deconstructed upper, Vibram outsole and lightweight EVA foam midsole.
