sacai Announces Collaborations With Carhartt and Moncler for Autumn/Winter '23
Initially previewed during Paris Fashion Week 2023, sacai has unveiled its Autumn/Winter ‘23 collection featuring a slew of men’s and women’s looks.
The basis of sacai’s Autumn/Winter ‘23 leans on a number of cues, from Christopher Nolan’s 2014 hit ‘Interstellar’ to the brand’s methodical hybridisation of various garment systems, both of which manifest themselves in the construction of said pieces. Throughout the collection, our attention is drawn to the vast amount of layering, elegant dresses paired with utility vests and the juxtaposing coloured cardigans where light opposes dark.
Where collaborations were concerned, sacai did not disappoint on that front tapping industry leaders such as Nike, Moncler and Carhartt to further its breadth. No strangers to working with one another, Nike and sacai’s previous match-ups have proven highly revered. For AW ‘23, the pair have dabbled in the Footscape NM, a cult classic, as their silhouette of choice that is expected to become deeply sought-after upon release. A familiar pattern of re-connecting appears as sacai and Moncler resume their collaborative endeavours in time to celebrate the latter’s 70th anniversary amidst a flurry of outerwear, accessories, tailoring and skirts in a modular-kind-of universe. Lastly, to neatly tie the knot, sacai interprets a number of Carhartt workwear styles in its proprietary reconstructed fashion, turning the age-old chore coat into a knitted rendition with re-done logos and fusing elements from an MA-1 flight jacket into similar workwear-inspired jackets.
