MHL. Pays Homage to Japan Through its 'WA-SHI' Collection
To pay its dues to Japanese craftsmanship, MHL. has blended washi paper - a traditional material that represents Japan - with cotton to create ‘Wa-Shi Cotton’ which the label has used on a number of garment styles, including lightweight blousons, t-shirts, socks, chore coats and trousers. Using this particular fabric marries cotton's natural characteristics with the unique properties of washi paper, including its propensity for being comfortable, odour-repelling and more eco-friendly than synthetic materials. The colour palette is refined, seeking out burnt orange hues, chalk and carbon greys.
