HAL STUDIOS® and ASICS Continue their Partnership with the GEL-KAYANO 20
Led by John Bouquet, HAL STUDIOS®, the creative think tank, continues its footwear partnership with ASICS, leaving its revered mark on another iconic style: the GEL-KAYANO 20.
First introduced in 2013 as a stability trainer, the GEL-KAYANO 20 is a staple that has remained in ASICS’ rotation ever since. Now, it has been chosen by HAL STUDIOS® to be the latest style in their string of collaborations, which lists the GEL-1130 as its previous canvas. This revised iteration seeks inspiration from the innovative design language of the Space Age era, fusing futuristic aesthetics with advanced comfort to bring this heritage silhouette into the modern age.
Departing from the construction of the original model, HAL STUDIOS® introduces a three-hook and loop strap closure system as opposed to traditional laces, a feature that was discovered during a trip to ASICS’ rich archive. Despite this, the GEL-KAYANO 20 carries over several features, including the TRUSSTIC support system, which provides underfoot stability, while GEL technology in the midsole supplies superior shock absorption and comfort. There is one colourway available, ‘Malt’, which is releasing in limited quantities.
