Goldwin and _J.L-A.L_ Alter our Perception of Technical Clothing and Fabrics in Debut Capsule
Goldwin and _J.L-A.L_ embark on a creative discourse of ideas that honours Goldwin’s expertise in technical clothing and _J.L-A.L_’s signature design flair.
This collaboration celebrates a full-circle moment for the pair, harking back to Jean-Luc Ambridge’s involvement in the inaugural Goldwin 0 collection in 2020. In this instance, they have created a Shell Jacket and Pants constructed using GORE-TEX PRO, a membrane that combines the best of Gore’s products: breathable, waterproof, windproof and stretchy. The resulting technical silhouettes and the chosen fabric have been reworked through _J.L-A.L_’s distinctive lens, including signature pattern-cutting and features, such as articulated panelled construction and double snap button closure on the wrist and ankle opening. Additionally, a Crewneck Top, which mirrors design cues seen in the Shell Jacket and Pants, is crafted using a moisture-absorbant and shape-retaining jersey fabric.
Rounding off this capsule collection is a 3L Jacket made from Spiber Brewed Protein, exclusive to _J.L-A.L_’s online store (available now). While it features outdoor-inspired functionalities like an adjustable drawcord and a three-layer construction, the jacket has notes of an elevated aesthetic, which the London-based cohort is known for.
Currently, the capsule can be purchased from the Tentative Research pop-up in Tokyo, running until 17/11. This will followed by a pop-up at LCDC Seoul on 19/11.
