RANRA Furthers its Footwear Programme with its 'Kalt' Hiking Shoe
Aside from its collaborations with Salomon on the Cross Pro and SKOR styles, RANRA’s in-house footwear programme has remained untapped.
Intent on changing this, the Reykjavík-London design studio has released the ‘Kalt’ Hiking Shoe, a tool for navigating various landscapes, such as RANRA’s two homelands: London and Reykjavík. The shoe marries traditional craftsmanship with modern performance by utilising felted wool, which provides natural water resistance, throughout the upper and a Vibram outsole for increased traction. Suede accents can be found in high-wear areas, secured by precision stitching for a longer-lasting and more durable shoe that can withstand the environments it is designed for.
The Kalt will be available in three colourways inspired by Iceland’s rugged landscape: Obsidian, mirroring the deep and dark minerals; Ember, inspired by the fiery hues of the island’s volcanic lava fields; and Sandstone, echoing the earthy tones found on the coast and cliffs.
