Urban Research Launches its Latest Project ‘thread by UR TECH’

Urban Research has launched ‘thread by UR TECH’, its latest range of pieces that are made from its proprietary material.

In total, the project consists of 5 pieces of clothing: a jacket, vest, pants, L/S and S/S top. Using their research, they decided to create each item with a relaxed and flowy silhouette that does not restrict the wearer’s movement and included features like Cordura elbow pads where appropriate for extra protection. Despite their innocuous appearance, each garment possesses hidden details like elastic drawcords for an adjusted fit, gusseted sleeves with ventilated holes for easier movement and ventilation, and fabrics dart for ergonomic reasons.

Urban Research teamed up with a group of breakdancers to produce a short movie that was released alongside the clothing. The video and accompanying imagery helped Urban Research to conduct testing into the stress that the clothing goes through under enhanced movement, helping to develop a pattern specification that accounted for these acrobatic positions.
