Yuthanan Readies for Second 'Artifacts' Exhibition at COMPLEXBOOST
Nicolas Yuthanan Chalmeau, better known by his online moniker, Yuthanan, is preparing his second ‘Artifacts’ exhibition, which will see the creative delve further into the art world.
Following a two-day exhibition hosted in May in collaboration with French textile researcher and knit artist Aurélie Mathigot, Yuthanan is revisiting his ‘Artifacts’ series alongside the painter Noor. The idea of the exhibition is to repurpose ceramics from the Showa era, which Yuthanan hand-picked during his travels throughout Japan. Noor has individually handpainted each piece with the names of popular Japanese corporations, such as Toyota, Panasonic, Suzuki, and Canon, to highlight the contrast between Japan’s past, present and future.
