Graeme Gaughan Highlights Db’s Latest 'Weigh Lighter' Collection in Skarsvåg, Norway
In the pursuit of creating lighter mountaineering and travel equipment, Db has partnered with ALUULA, a textile manufacturer experimenting with increasingly stronger and lighter fabrics to trump industry namesakes, blending performance and aesthetics.
Together, they have devised the ‘Weigh Lighter’ capsule utilising ALUULA Graflyte™ across several of Db’s key mountaineering and lifestyle-oriented packs, including the 10L Sling, 25L Backpack, 70L Split Duffel, 32L Helmet Bag and 127L Snow Roller Pro. Coupling category-defining lightness with durability, Graflyte™ is a composite material that leads the way for the next generation of textile innovation, boasting 100% waterproofness and recyclability. As a result, this collection of bags is a first for Db and ALUULA, as well as the wider industry.
Art director, stylist, and regular eye_C contributor Graeme Gaughan recently accompanied the Db team on a trip to Norway, where they were shooting the ‘Weigh Lighter’ campaign. Shot 10km from Nordkapp, ‘North Cape’, in Skarsvåg outside an abandoned schoolhouse from the 1970s, Graeme styled the packs from his perspective, utilising technical clothing from Veilance, HH118389225, Goldwin 0, Oakley, NANGA, Diemme, Satisfy and Kiko Kostadinov.
