nanamica Integrates Spiber's Brewed Protein™ Fibres into its Iconic Cruiser Jacket
nanamica has revealed its latest creation using Spiber’s Brewed Protein™ fibres, a rendition of its iconic Cruiser Jacket.
Over the last few years, nanamica, Goldwin and The North Face Purple Label have expanded their use of Brewed Protein™, a protein produced from plant-derived raw materials through microbial fermentation, to counteract the environmental impact of clothing manufacturing. Dubbed ‘Utopian Uniform’, nanamica envisions a future where it will increase its use of this material, starting with its Cruiser Jacket, one of the label’s most iconic outerwear styles. Retaining many of its signature features, including a removable hood, double-layered front pockets and drawcord adjustability, the jacket has been made using a blend of Brewed Protein™, wool and nylon. The Cruiser Jacket arrives in a signature nanamica navy blue.
Additionally, The North Face Purple Label has taken a similar route, utilising the same material on its Mountain Coat, a defining outerwear style for the Japanese-exclusive subline.
