UNDERCOVER Embraces The Surreal Alongside Will Sweeney and MEDICOM
Well versed in the abstract and surreal, UNDERCOVER’s magical and ill-tinted world of fantasy comes to life with yet another collaboration. Paired with artist Will Sweeney and internationally renowned toy producer MEDICOM, the Japanese imprint is readied to proffer an extremely playful Mr. Buttons Lamp alongside complementing tees and totes.
Displayed in front of a moving storybook-esque animation, the arriving night light borders sinister and friendly as the proprietary character smirks slightly and faces you with wide cross-eyes. Its rotund stem then further leans towards the anthropomorphic with its two arms: one left at the side and the other providing a reassuring thumbs up. His head, which constructs with a relatively standard if not slightly warped mushroom top, marks with white bases and pink dots whose glow changes to tints of red, pink, purple, and blue once turned on. Adjacent, the Mr. Buttons themes take further form as he jumps onto a tote and T-Shirt just behind his psychedelically emblazoned name; the back of the latter then further fleshes out the universe with a similarly trippy tree.
